Don't Get Suckered into Paid to Click Programs
Here is my personal experience with so called PTC programs.
I had heard a lot about Paid to Click (PTC) programs in the recent past and how
you could make easy extra cash by joining.
Out of curiosity and with dollar signs in my eyes, I joined up with about half a
dozen sites because their sales pitch was so convincing that all you had to do was
sit there and click on ads to make money. Right away, I had to eliminate all but
one because of constant popup and popunder ads that would at times freeze up my
system, not to mention the unbelievable amount of spam that suddenly
appeared in my email in spite of the fact that I was assured my email would
NEVER be given out.
What most of these Paid To Click sites don't tell you up front is that 'money' represents
a penny - that's right - one red cent. For that you have to click on an
advertised website and leave it open 30 seconds in order to be credited your
money.
Another thing they don't tell you is that there are only a handful of available
ads to click on at any time. This means, you have to log in to the site, go to
your account and then see if there are any 'opportunities' to make your penny.
Even then, a lot of the time these website ads don't resolve. So you are sitting
there for your 30 seconds and at the end you don't get credit. If you are
diligent and sign in about once every two hours, you are lucky to end up with 20
to 25 available clicks per day.
Well, that amounts to a max of 25 cents per day.
So let's do the numbers. Assume you are willing to put in an 8 hour day and
further assume that there would be sufficient ads to earn money from.
You have 480 minutes in your day. Therefore, providing you don't eat lunch or
have a coffee break, you could expect to actually realize the grand sum of $9.60
for your 8 hour workday.
To sum it up - here is the outcome of the one remaining Paid to Click site I
stuck with:
The reason I am still there is because I am trying to get my money back. Like a
fool, I signed up and paid a non-refundable fee of $10 to become a 'premium' member. This was supposed
to get me more ads to click on and really earn some serious money! HaHa...
One month later to the day, my earned income balance was under $12 for 30
days worth of work. When I tried to collect my earnings, I was informed
there would be a $3 charge to process the check. So I guess I will be there
another few days to bring my credit up to $13 which is my break-even point and
will have cost me more than a month of my time without a penny profit.
Bottom line - I learned my lesson - and hope that in the end I will recoup at
least the money I so unwisely spent on a Paid to Click Program.
